Looking to sell my Thunderbird Special 312 V-8 Fordomatic, which I bought in Texas (USA). The first owner had it for over 50 years and owner no. 2 had it until I owner no. 3 bought it in 2019.
Owner before me was a car mechanic and had done a lot with brakes and miscellaneous as well as painting the car. For the last 25 years with the first owner, The car had been in a show room and had not been driven , this meant that the engine had corroded in the cylinders and there was poor compression. I took the engine out after it arrived in Norway and howned the block, leveled the heads and changed all the inner parts in the engine.
The car appears to be completely, all of the instruments, brakes, steering and lights work as they should. It didn't come with the soft top, so I bought one new from the USA (tan colored ) and with a swingable auxiliary structure to make it easier to open the soft top. In addition, I have constructed a wind shield screen behind the seat back which dampers the draft on the neck when driving open ( see the pictures). Otherwise, I have made a number of renewed and replacement of parts that I thought were necessary.
The car has been in my heated garage as long as it has been in Norway. The car appears as a great collector's item and is registered as worthy of preservation. As an almost 70-year-old veteran sports car, it is both easy to drive, strong, sporty and good to drive. The soundscape from 2 x exhaust emissions enhances the driving experience to the maximum. There is hardly a more typical sports car icon that signals American car history better. This is a unique opportunity for those looking for an original 1967 T-bird, which rarely appears on the market.
